UniteGPS is on the lookout for dynamic individuals who would be available to help staff a Maine based team of Student Transportation professionals. The Maine Department of Education expected to release an RFP in December 2023 expecting a launch of statewide school bus routing software on July 1. Ideal candidates are those enthusiastic about facilitating safe student transportation, comfortable with overnight travel for on-site work at schools, and skilled in guiding users from novices to advanced learners. A key part of this venture is the establishment of a Center for Transportation Excellence, a training facility we plan to open in Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, or South Portland. We are currently conducting interviews with candidates for roles that we would fill  depending upon our proposal's success in the RFP process. Student Transportation Systems Educator & Routing Analyst

Location: South Portland, Maine

Positions Available: 4

Salary Range: $35,825 - $55,141

Work with school district transportation directors and routing personnel to develop efficient school bus routes and assign students to bus stops. Create safe transportation routes within established bell times and local standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze vehicle, timing, and road system data for route planning
  • Adjust routes for special programs and field test schedules
  • Solve overcrowding and load balancing issues
  • Process bus stop review requests
  • Maintain transportation information on website
  • Communicate with stakeholders including public, school staff, and parents
  • Travel overnight for on-site work at schools

Director of Education and Routing

Salary Range: $45,491 - $62,273

Lead a team collaborating with school district transportation directors to develop and implement efficient bus routes. Oversee the safe transportation of students while managing vehicle capacity, timing, and safety concerns.

Collaborate with school district IT departments to manage SFTP data feeds of student information and integrate them into our routing platform while ensuring FERPA compliance.
