Frequently Asked Questions

Where is our data stored?

In secure, U.S. based cloud data centers with enterprise grade protections, physical security controls, and redundant power systems.

Who owns the data?

Your district owns 100% of the data. UniteGPS has only a limited license to process data as necessary to provide contracted services. We never sell, trade, or claim ownership of your data.

How do you notify us of security incidents?

We notify affected districts within 24–48 hours of discovering any data breach or security incident. Notification includes incident details, impact assessment, and remediation steps. We provide ongoing updates throughout the resolution process.

Who are your subprocessors?

We work with carefully vetted subprocessors for cloud infrastructure and support services. All subprocessors are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and FERPA compliance requirements. For a complete current list, contact support@unitegps.com.

Can we export our data?

Yes. Standard data exports are available through your admin dashboard at any time in CSV and JSON formats. Custom or historical data exports may require additional time and, for extensive requests, reasonable fees may apply.

What happens to our data if we terminate service?

You choose: we either return all your data in a mutually agreed format within 30 days, or we securely delete all data within 90 days and provide written certification of destruction. You maintain full control.
